Interview
with the Chairman of Oriental City Group (OCG) and the Head
of Bank of Communications (Hainan)
(September 9th 2005) In this sunny morning,
Mr. Henry C.F. Yu (Chairman of OCG) and Mr. Yang Yu Ming (Head
of Bank of Communications - Hainan) conducted an interview with
Hainan.net to elaborate the partnership Golf Card project between
the two esteemed financial institutions.
When Mr. Yang of Bank of Communications introduced the Pacific-OCG
Golf Card, he highlighted that the Card was targeted to the Golf
customers who had high expectations on quality of services, so
the Golf Card was designed with superb transparent look, and
the Card was welcome at the most prestigious golf courses and
golf-related outlets at Hainan, including Golf Practice Range,
Golf Shops and Golf Travel, and also a variety of quality Lifestyle-related
merchants, such as airlines, hotels and restaurants. OCG was
responsible for all the marketing-related activities of the Card
and the Bank of Communications was responsible for the operational
aspect of the Card.
Mr. Yu of
OCG reiterated that the Golf Card was positioned to appeal
to the ever growing
Golf population in China, with the
increasing demand and expectation from the sophisticated market
segment, OCG was aiming to deliver the first and the best Golf
Card in China to meet the needs of the golf customers and cardmembers,
so they can enjoy a network and platform of quality golf products
and services not only around the nations top quality golf establishments,
but also the best golf facilities around the world.
Mr. Yu stated that the Golf Card in China would start to be
Golf Debit Card at the initial stage, in order to gain the local
experience and accustom to the local spending and payment behaviour.
Golf Card would be issued as soon as next year of 2006.
The reason for the 1st ever China Golf Card to be started in
Hainan was primarily because Hainan was the Golfing paradise
of China and South East Asia.
According to Mr. Yu, OCG was proud to introduce such quality
Golf Lifestyle membership payment platform in China, and the
marketing experience of such Lifestyle marketing was learnt by
Mr. Yu for over 20 years from his consumer finance experience
at HK and the U.S. And Mr. Yu also emphasized that it was the
honour for OCG to be able to team up with Bank of Communications
to issue the Golf Lifestyle Card in China.
Mr. Yang
believed that the issuance of Pacific-OCG Golf Card would have
positive
impact to the local consumer and consumption
scene, as the Golf Card would bring in quality partnership and
marketing experience from Hong Kong to the local financial arena,
which in turn would benefit both the Bank, the customers and
the Hainans economy as a whole.
